Big Step Little Step
Skill: Physical development helps fine tune both your child’s gross, and fine motor skills. It is also very important in strengthening muscles, controlling the body and co-ordination. This activity of Big Step Little Step, helps your child experiment with different ways of moving, and imitating different combinations of movement.
Talk about giants and ideally read a story that has
ReplyDeleteone such as Jack and the Beanstalk.
Talk about how big a giant is, what they would look
like and where they would live.
Then go on a giant’s walk. Encourage your child to
take huge big ‘giant’ steps then ‘little people’
steps by tip-toeing.

Extend the activity by drawing pictures of giants.
You can also play another game where your child
is the giant and their toy doll is the ‘little person.’
