Keeping to the rules

Skill: Physical development helps fine tune both your child’s gross, and fine motor skills. It is also very important in strengthening muscles, controlling the body and co-ordination. This activity Keeping to the rules, teaches your child the importance of safety when moving, jumping and landing.

  1. It is important that young children take care when
    playing and use simple rules
    Play one of your child’s favourite tunes and
    ask your child to stop when the music stops.
    After you have played it several times talk to
    them about the importance of moving about
    without hurting themselves or other people.
    Play musical bumps where they have to sit
    down safely on a soft cushion. Explain why
    sitting down carefully is important.

    Play some other simple games which have
    two or three rules.
