Finding Faces

Skill: This activity will help your child develop their knowledge of the world around them.

  1. Sit with your toddler and look at pictures
    of faces in magazines and books.
    Ask your child whether they think the
    person is happy, sad or excited etc...
    Find a picture of a smiling or laughing
    child – ask your toddler to describe the
    emotion of this face. Then ask them to
    make a happy face.
    You can play this game on different days
    and ask your toddler to find a face that
    matches how they feel.
    This activity helps toddlers’
    emotional development by
    encouraging them to identify
    their own feelings.
