Storyboards

Skill: This activity will help your child explore expression, find their own voice, and learn how to listen, then respond. Communication is also the basis of making contact with those around you, having positive relationships and learning how to be in the company of others.

This activity Storyboards, helps your child describe main story settings, events and characters.

  1. Children should have some idea about the sequence of events.
One way of doing this is to create your own storyboard.
Cut out the 4 cards provided, showing
what your child does; when they get up,
at lunchtime, at teatime and when they
    go to bed.
Muddle these up and put them in front of
    your child.
Get them to put them in the correct order
    starting with the morning.

Read or tell a simple story together e.g. Goldilocks
and the 3 bears. Make up a simple storyboard of
events using the blank templates supplied.
