Emotions

Skill: Gaining self awareness is extremely important in a child. These activities explore their emotional boundaries, help your child to feel safe and secure, and help them to recognise their own personal characteristics and preferences. This activity Emotions, helps your child respond to a range of feelings.

    a range of feelings when necessary.
    Find somewhere quiet and sit down with
    your child.
    Read a story to them that is linked with emotions
    such as Some Dogs Do by Jez Alborough.
    Be expressive when you read the story.
    Talk about some of the different emotions
    described in the book.
    Make some different sounds with your child that
    express emotions such as excitement, pleasure
    or anger.
