Matching Pictures

Skill: The activities in this section will help your child with solving simple numerical problems relating to counting, measuring, money, shape, movement and graphs. This activity Matching pictures, helps your child recognise similarities and then match the two picture halves together.

  1. Cut out three pictures from magazines.
    Then cut each picture into two. Ask
    your child to work out which half
    goes with which other half. Ask them
    why they think the two go together.
    Follow up ideas
    If your child is finding the activity
    very easy you can make it harder
    by cutting the picture into four or
    adding more pictures.
