Show your child how to hold a pencil or crayon correctly

Ask your child to copy them either in the
sand or using some play dough.
Write the first letter of their name and get
them to copy it underneath. Go through
the other letters in their name.
Write down the first letters of some
of their friends’ names.
Encourage them to paint and draw the first
letter of your name and those of any
brothers and sisters.
