Sleeping Baby

Skill: Gaining self awareness is extremely important in a child. These activities explore their emotional boundaries, help your child to feel safe and secure, and helping them to recognise their own personal characteristics and preferences. This activity Sleeping baby, helps your child to take the initiative, and be sensitive to the needs, views and feelings of others. This enables them to make connections with different parts of their life experiences.

  1. You will need a toy baby. If you have any other toy baby
    props such as a cot or pram, then you can also use these.
    With your child, pretend that the baby is asleep. Talk about
    what you need to do so you don’t wake her up. Put the
    baby down to sleep and then walk around the baby
    without waking her. Also try playing a game and talking
    without waking the baby up.
    Follow up ideas
    If your child is too loud and wakes the baby up, then give
    the baby to them and ask them to get her back to sleep by
    rocking her, singing a lullaby or pushing her in the pram.
